Seems like every dg forum out there has a beer thread...so here you go. What are you guys drinkin on recently?

My last few beers were less than impressive...st arnold's amber ale and the Belgian Nit-Wit from BJs brewhouse (ps - the one at town east mall sucks balls). However, my last few before those were outstanding: Brewdog's Isle of Arran whiskey barrel imperial stout (oh so dark and smooth) and RealAle's XIV anniversary ale (piney hoppiness and some tropical fruit notes from the yeast).

Ahh man, I am a beer NUT!!

Regulars lately have been land shark and fat tire "Folly Packs". I am a heavy beer drinker though (consistency wise) I like beer that I can chew on. Chocolate beers, wheat beers, stouts. etc.

Anything chimay rules. Old Speckled hen is great. Anything Russian. I'll add more as we go on

my sister in law really likes landshark, but im not a fan personally. i like big beers...especially stouts in the cool weather and IPAs during the summer. Speaking of which, the flying saucer in garland is tapping a keg of Rahr Stormcloud IPA tomorrow night.

I've been keeping tabs ( get it, "tabs") on Budweiser since they were bought by InBev Belgium. As the hallmark American lager, it is renown for its classic fundamentals, and 1st rate consistency. What I don't want to see happen, is any variance from the recipe.
My EXHAUSTIVE research is yet to be finallized into an overall report card for the brand, but obviously, consistencyu that has taken a century to define, will take time to be judged.
More to come on this matter from this freelance critic.

I have stopped in to taste local pub beers for a long time, and have acquired a taste for Belgian beer. ( No Duh!) Among them, Gudenband stood head and shoulders above. Just an awesome beer. A Flemmish ale at 8%, this sucker wil whisper sweet nothings into your mouth, and rip your HEART OUT!. You see, Duvel bought G-band, and has yet to remake the original recipe.
I have heard, and been told by another source, that Sam's Beverages out of Chicago will get the first shippment of the new product, and I'm, still waiting... it's been one year for sure.
I like Leffe also. It's delicious.

Dales pale ale rule so hard!!!

I agree with rusty though, Cool weather calls for a stout or porter. BUT hot weather, I'm mexican so anything that I can make into a michilada

I'm still undergoing extensive analysis or the Budweiser original product. It seems to be maintaining it's character, and resultant finish, of course punctuated by the charred beechwood, is also largely unchanged.
I have also, due to the excessive heat, been making Bud Light Lime my bitch.
Also, Natty, and Key Light in the 24 oz cans.
And Beck's, that my neighbor brought over. ... Yeah...
#1 beer in Germany! That's right, I smells like KB!!~! No BS!

Where are you guys finding the Dale's at? This is the third or fourth time I've heard about it being great, but I don't remember seeing it at any stores I frequent. What are the hops like in it? Any comparison to Sierra Nevada pale ale (the one I'm most familiar with)?

Fullers ESB is great - Wells Bombadier (another english bitter) is also pretty nice...its on tap at the flying saucer. Next time any of you guys hit up Audubon you should check out AB Beer and Wine across the street from the park. They have a pretty decent selection for such a small store -- a few belgians, stone, flying dog, fullers, youngs, new belgium, sierra nevada (almost full line up), and a lot of other american craft brews I've yet to try.

Having never met a cold brew I didn't like, I wouldn't consider myself and expert, but...

This summer I've been drinking Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower (great after mowing the yard or playing disc golf - who would figure...). Saint Arnold Texas Wheat (so smooth...) and Saint Arnold Summer Pils. It's my summer "refreshing beer" phase.

In the colder months, I prefer dunkels from Spaten or Warsteiner...(I haven't had a German Lager I didn't really like) or ales such as Fullers ESB.

Of course, I'm old school, so I wouldn't turn down an ice cold Old Milwaukee if offered (I like 'em)... I'm definitely NOT a beer snob.

Love this stuff, went to the brewery with Jones and Miller. You can get it at Flying Saucer.

I like Ruination, and 90 minute.
I love Duchess du Borgoigne, Westmalle dubel, and Fischer de Alsace ( in the swing top bottle naturally). I think they are very nice. They understand me, and they really care about my feelings.

Rusty,

I meant to tell you.. I had some St. Arnolds Amber on vacation and I really dug it. :)

I prefer dark beers.. Favorite is probably Fat Tire or New Castle.. Shiner is great too. Took a tour of the brewery in June!
