After a long and patient wait, fans of the 2011 Ace Race prototype can now legally use it in PDGA competition. The PDGA has approved the disc up the 183 grams in weight.
The large and slow disc has been renamed Zeppelin. Information is not yet available on Discraft's plans to release Zeppelin to the general public.
Played Disc Golf on PS3 with Kevin Bates tonight and it was a good time..Thinking about having some ace pot games this winter when weather is bad. if anyone is interested let me know. Would like to get Casey back in on the action.
This Saturday I am going to be working out at the course trying to clean up all of the dead wood and rocks along holes 15-17. If you have some time in your schedule and don't mind coming and continuing to support the course through this clean up that would be awesome. I will be out there as early as 8:00 a.m. and plan on working all day or until we are finished. However, you can come and go as you please. Lunch will be provided. I look forward to seeing you then!
Hey guys, got an update from Dan on some of the prizes and trophies.
From Dan Norman:
Discatcher Minis will be awarded to the both players of the winning team in the Advanced Division. All division winners (Advanced, Intermediate, Beginner) will receive special carved wooden trophy discs. Dozens of other discs, bags, shirts, gift cards and other great prizes - including some very cool custom designed discs (e.g. spiderman) - will be won at this event.
The Charity Pro-Life Disc Golf Picnic is coming in just 5 days. If you haven't registered yet, it's imperative that you pre-register ASAP - unless you don't want to eat. A head-count is necessary for our food prep, so if you wait to register, you risk missing lunch!
This Sunday is the latest edition of the Pro Life Chairty Disc Golf Tournament Series Daniel Norman and his wife host. I've been to the last three and it's a good time with a low entry fee, players pack, and lunch.
Come out if you can make it, it'll surely be a great time for a good cause! :)
A lot of people have asked about starting the popular Wednesday night mini @ Audubon again. We will announce the first mini soon with full details. Get ready for The Bon every Wednesday soon guys!
The TitleDISC Open is back for its 4th year, and this year we are proud to announce that the PDGA has approved us for A-tier (SuperTour) status! We will be part of the Texas Swing series of events, in collaboration with the greatest TDs in Texas.
Because this event is partnered with the US Masters, we *will not* be offering age-protected divisions. If you are 40+ and would like to play an age-protected tournament, we highly recommend attending the Tim Selinske US Masters in Hunstville the same weekend. If you are under 40 and therefore not eligible for the US Masters, come to DFW and experience two of the best courses in the Dallas area!
We will be using both Harry Myers Park in Rockwall, TX and Audubon Park in Garland, TX. The two courses are about 15 minutes apart, easily within driving distance. All divisions will play one round each at Audubon and Harry Myers on Saturday, with a shotgun start, following the players' meeting. On Sunday, all divisions will play one round at Harry Myers, using a teetime format with the amateur divisions teeing first. Sunday's teetimes will be posted saturday evening, once all scores have been calculated. We are planning to have a player's party Saturday night, and will provide teetimes then, as well. More info on that party as we have it.
Tournament Headquarters will be *indoors* this year. The City Of Rockwall has been nice enough to sponsor this tournament with (among other things), usage of the building in the "skate park" parking lot at Harry Myers. This is the Westernmost of the three parking lots, directly south and a couple hundred feet from hole 5's teebox. It is a short walk to any hole on the course.
This is going to be one of the biggest tournaments that DFW has ever seen! We are limiting the field to 144 players total, so get signed up ASAP to secure your spot! We are expecting some of the top touring pros to be in attendance. The Texas Swing is one solid month of big-time tournaments in Texas - all the big names will be here! Remember, because this is a PDGA A-tier event for all divisions, you *must* be a current PDGA member in order to play. If you do not get registered in time, there is sure to be a big gallery for the top Open cards on Sunday - feel free to come out and watch!
If you or your business would like to be a sponsor of this or any TitleDISC tournament, please contact Deidre Dann - deidre@titledisc.com . If you have general questions about this event, please contact Josh Dann - josh@titledisc.com
Hey guys, we have two B Tier tournaments rolling into town this weekend. They look like they're going to fill pretty early so hurry and sign up if you plan on playing! Dynamic Discs is putting on the:
The Funkytown Flyers are having their first ever bag tag challenge in Dallas hosted at Audubon Park in Garland, TX. This is sure to be a good time if you aren't planning on hitting either of the Ice Bowls or Manor Tournament.

The Alex Clark Memorial is on again this year!
The City of McKinney and the Clark Family have asked TitleDISC to run this memorial event again this year, in honor of Alex Clark. Alex so loved Disc Golf that when his life was tragically cut short, his family and friends pooled resources and gathered sponsorship to improve, expand, and dedicate the Wilson Creek Disc Golf Course in Alex's name. Today, we know this course as the Alex Clark Memorial Disc Golf Course.
Last year, we raised over $400 for charities of the Clark Family's choosing. This year, we hope to raise even more! Come out and show the Clark Family some love :)
The tournament will be a 1-day PDGA C-tier event on Saturday, Nov. 13th. The City of McKinney will be providing a FREE lunch to all players! We will use the 21-hole tournament layout with rounds from the short tees and from the longs. The weather is usually spectacular for this tournament, and we expect this year to be the same. Come join us!
There has been a HUGE increase of people putting the incorrect date lately for their rounds entered into the site. Please pay attention to what date you are entering as entering future dates keeps your round on top of the "recent rounds" list until the date passes. It's an honest mistake that is simple to make. Just do your best to read the date before submitting.
This is something Tommy will disable as soon as he has time, so in the mean time please just do your best to enter scores under the correct date.
Hey guys.. A lot of you (David) have been bugging me forever about adding some of the courses to our directory that are on the west side of the metroplex. I finally added Arcadia #2 a minute ago as I was tired of seeing David enter scores into North Park using the mobile app and then say it was for another park :) I could use your help.. If there is a course that is not in the directory that you'd like to see added please let me know. Even better, if you have pics of the course feel free to send them to me as well and I'll get them uploaded once the course has been created in the directory.
Big thanks to everyone that came out despite the insane rainy conditions. We ended up having 43 players. Paschall was closed due to the flooding creek so we moved it to Porter Elementary. Our winner was DGD member Robert Applegate! Great job Robert :)
Champion Robert Applegate:
Hole #6 From the Basket to Tee
I'll post more pics later on.
Special thanks to Tommy from the City of Mesquite, David Tennant and Kirk Ross for helping handle registration and player's packs at the event, and of course the hotties who brought you the pizza and took pics all day in the rain - Liz and Erika :)
The Ace Race is this Saturday morning (9/25) at Paschall Park in Mesquite, TX. You had to pre-register for this event in order to play. We have 43 registered players and it looks to be a blast. I want to give out a big thanks to Tommy Anich and the City of Mesquite for letting us come out and bang some chains.
We will be providing FREE lunch to all participants between rounds. That's right, FREE. David's second favorite 4 letter word :)
We will also offer an optional Cash Ace Pot that anyone is welcome to buy into. It will be cash only and $5 per person. You must pay the $5 before the first round begins if you want to join. If everyone throws in $5.. The winner will get over $200. Not a bad ace pot :)
We will also have some ring of fire action with some prizes as well following the round.
I'm excited to see everyone this weekend. Get ready to get your ACE ON :)
Player's Pack Items:
Ace Race Rules:
When: Saturday September 25th 2010 @ Paschall Park in Mesquite, TX. 9:30 Player's meeting 10:00 AM tee off
Format: Two rounds of 18 holes, one throw per hole per player.
Course layout: Holes are generally between 180 and 250 feet (55 to 75 meters).
Player package: The 2010 player pack includes two identical Discraft prototype discs made especially for Ace Race, plus a SuperColor mini, premium hat, sticker and a die-cast chrome bag tag. A $67 value!
Rules of play: Players are required to use the player package discs, and only these discs. If a disc is lost, the player has the option of using the second disc from the package. Only one throw per player per hole. All players should have their own scorecards and mark "A" for aces (a hole-in-one) and "M" for holes on which they hit metal.
After all players in the group have thrown, discs are picked up and the group moves directly to the next tee. Players keep their scorecards for round two, using the next line on the card to record the round.
The player with the most aces after 36 holes is declared the winner. In case of ties, the number of metal hits is used as a tie breaker. If a tie persists, a closest to the pin contest is then used to determine the event winner.
Prize package: Grand prize for each event is a Discraft merchandise package, including a bag and eight new discs.
Two rounds at Paschall Park in Mesquite. All divisions will play one round from two sets of tees. Weather permitting, we will use the usual tournament layout that includes championship tees for the open and advanced fields, with long tees for intermediate and rec. The tournament layout also includes 3 alternate holes which require dry conditions. If we can, we will use them too :)
The City of Mesquite has been very supportive of the sport. Come out and show them that we all appreciate their dedication to Disc Golf!
Saturday we will have BYOP doubles. $30/team for Pros, $20/team for Ams. Sunday is the singles event - see the schedule for more details.
Registration is still open for this weekend's 2-day tournament in Lewisville if anyone that plans on playing sitll isn't signed up. Doesn't look like too many spots are left.
I know a lot of our members played this weekend's MJCO in Carrollton.. I'll post results as soon as the PDGA.com site starts working :) The Results page won't load.
If anyone knows who did what feel free to post it until I can access the official results!
In one week we will no longer be able to accept online pre-registration fees for the Ace Race. Discraft requires that we order the packaged two weeks prior to the event.. So the absolute latest we can order the player's packs will be Sept. 11th.
If you plan on playing SIGN UP RIGHT NOW by clicking on the black banner at the top of this page. We will not be taking sign ups the day of the tournament!! We will do our best to order some extra player packs but you need to sign up now to guarantee your spot in the ace race!
If you have ANY questions, click the "Contact" button at the top of the page and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
We had a bunch of DGD members show up and represent at the tournament over the weekend. The Colony put on a great tournament at Bill Allen which is an awesome course in its new 18-hole layout!
Many of you played this weekend at the DD Cedar Hill Open. A lot of you did very well and I wish I could have been there along side ya! JD and I went down to Austin and played the Met Center Open. JD did well, I did not. :P
Remember guys, pre-registration IS REQUIRED for the 2010 Ace Race hosted by DGD on Sept. 25th. The date is fast approaching, so be sure to get registered as soon as you can. Right now I beleive there are already 9 people signed up.
Click on the banner at the top of the page for more details!
DiscGolfDallas.com members had a HUGE showing at Turner Park over the weekend for the B-Tier 1 day event :)
Rusty Pappas took 5th in Open bringing home $100 in cold hard cash. He represented us well! Way to go bro!
Rusty already posted a thread about this, but I'm stoked about how well our guys did! I took second in Advanced, David took home second in Intermediate, Andrew took 6th, and Eddie took 9th as well in Intermediate. Scott won Rec (Bagger!) :), Adam took 9th and cashed in his very first tournament! Awwweeesome dude!
We had other members as well show and play well! :)
This Sunday @ 2:00 PM (Sign up starts @ 1:30 PM) we will have the First Audubon Putter Challenge! Each player entry is $3 and is allowed a maximum of 3 discs to be used during the round. It will be 18 holes of hot Audubon action! Winner take all!
We will also have a long distance putter driving contest afterwards, and possibly a putting contest.
This is our current list of approved putters for this challenge:
So.. Discraft finally released what the 2010 Ace Race disc will be. An overstable mid-range!
From Discraft:
2010 prototype disc revealed
Players have been asking for something more overstable, and in our 8th year we finally decided to give in. Here you go, sports fans!
The 2010 Ace Race prototype is a fast, overstable midrange. It has good speed for a mid, longer glide than you'll expect, and a medium strong finish. When you turn it over it will always come back unless you really torque it. Will hold a line in a moderate to strong headwind. We are looking forward to hearing the chains you ring with it!
Click on the black banner at the top of the page to register! Hurry before it's too late :)
Coan and McDougal took 1st with a -7. Two teams tied for second with -5 and a handful of other teams tied at -4 for third. We had to have a CTP to determine second place... Rusty will probably post the official stats in the Audubon thread :) 32 players showed, no aces were hit as the pot keeps getting bigger!
$5 per person plus $1 for the ace pot gets you into this week's Audubon Mini! Starts @ 6:00 PM by hole #16 and #7 in the parking lot. Draw Doubles, BRING IT.
As always, there will not be a pot luck dinner included with your entry fee.
I think we broke another record tonight... 34 players? Sweet! Jack and I think his name was Brett (I'm awful with names) won tonight with a -7. Rusty has all of the scorecards, so maybe he can post them in the Audubon thread :)
Also, the ace pot wasn't hit again.. Bringing the total to around $50 now in only two minis! This bad boy is going to get big fast!
Registration now open for the 2010 Discraft Ace Race @ Paschall Park !
07/09/2010 08:48 a.m. by Kevin
Click on the banner on the top of this page to go to the registration page and find more info... We will only be accepting pre-event registrations so make sure you sign up as soon as possible so we can get player packs ordered. We will not be taking sign ups the day of the event!
Don't forget about the Audubon mini tonight at 6:00! We will be playing, rain or shine! Last week we had 18 people show up to play despite the rain! This week is turning out to be even bigger!
Also, Rusty has pulled out a 2006 CFR Augusta Wraith from his vault to give away during the CTP contest following the mini!
RESULTS:
We had the biggest turnout yet.. 31 players! Rusty also gave up a killer CFR Augusta Wraith that I was lucky enough to win :)
DiscGolfDallas presents the 2010 Discraft Ace Race and other news
06/29/2010 09:53 a.m. by Kevin
Just a heads up, very soon we will have a registration page for the 2010 Ace Race DGD is hosting on September 11th 2010. We will also have some site updates and additions in the near future as well. I'm going to get with Tommy tonight and start working towards some cool stuff :)
Also, don't forget about the Wednesday mini at Audubon tomorrow night (Wednesday) @ 6:00 PM! Meet by hole 16 in the parking lot!
Had 15 players show tonight, a new high! We also played some alternate holes using the blue tees plus some others Rusty put in. It made for an interesting round :)
This week we're going to go with $5 as the ONLY option for entry (no more discs instead of cash). Once we start getting big turnouts, payout will be too complicated with cash and plastic. So starting this week (6/9/10) you must pay $5 cash to play.
As the mini grows we'll add ace pots and divisions as well! I'm also looking into bag tags currently, so cool stuff is coming :)
Tonight we had the first mini at Audubon. It was a blast! We had a total of 8 players show up. We played for either $5 a piece or a premium plastic disc. This was Rusty's idea and it was a success :) It's only going to get better each week too!

This Sunday is the Pro-Life Charity Disc Golf Picnic at Turner Park in Grand Prarie. It's also the same weekend as the ZBoaz Open.. But if anyone isn't playing that, this is a great event for a good cause. Dan Norman and his wife put on the tournament and they're super nice people.
It's not a PDGA sanctioned event, but it's a cheap entry fee and you get a custom stamped disc as well as lunch for signing up. Winners also will receive merchandise.
A C-tier preview for the Mr. Jim's Carrollton Open!
TitleDISC is proud to present the Carrollton Clash!
Designed as a preview for the Mr. Jim's Carrollton Open in September, we will be using both courses in Carrollton (Jimmy Porter and Greenbelt) in their full 21-hole layouts. We will have a FREE Mr. Jim's Pizza lunch provided at the course, and first place in each amateur division will get a FREE entry into the Mr. Jim's Carrollton Open in September!
We will use our one-day-Sunday format with flex-start doubles all day on Saturday. 2 rounds of 21 holes on Sunday, using both courses. Monday is a Holiday for most people, so this schedule should allow for a very fun and relaxing weekend :)
Jason Hull, Cory Flippin, and many other local disc golfers have been hard at work improving the new layout for Jimmy porter. This is a great opportunity to get out and play the new layout in tournament form. We will have lots of great TitleDISC gear, including some tournament stamps from the last two Carrollton Open events. Come out and see what Carrollton has to offer!
Hey guys.. I'm a bit pressed for time but I wanted to put up a quick update for the Dynamic Discs Mother's Day Madness tournament that happened today in Lewisville..
We had a strong showing of DGD Members at the 3rd Annual TitleDISC Open in Rockwall over the weekend! HUGE thanks to Josh and Deidre for running such a great event, can't wait until next year already!
We almost had DGD members cash in each division (With the exception of the old man bagger divisions) :)
Hey everyone.. In case you don't know this weekend is the 3rd Annual TitleDisc open in Rockwall, TX at Harry Myers park! A ton of DGD members have already signed up but the field is limited to 100 players so make sure you go to www.TitleDisc.com to register for the tournament if you want to play! It's a PDGA Sanctioned B-Tier event! Josh and Deidre run a great tournament if no one has ever been to one before.. Be sure to check this one out!
The TitleDISC Open is our premiere event every year. We are proud to bring it back to Rockwall again for 2010!
Harry Myers Park is one of the best 18-hole parks in North Texas. John Houck did a fantastic job designing this course a few years ago. The design makes great use of the park's natural elevation, vegetation, obstacles, and boundaries. Two teeboxes on many of the holes provide a challenge for all skill levels. Using Discatcher baskets, concrete tees, and HouckDesign signage in this already gorgeous park, the City of Rockwall has a disc golf course that will aesthetically rival any course in the area. These are just a few of the reasons why we choose to host our flagship event in Rockwall, TX. We are sure that players of all skill levels will enjoy this course, this City, and this event.
We will be using the TitleDISC Open logo that has become so popular with our players. We will have custom-stamped discs, custom scorecards, and lots of cool prizes and added cash. We intend to have a special bonus for 1st place in each division, as well :).
Using our popular 1-day-Sunday format for the B-tier, we will also be hosting a World's Biggest event on Saturday in combination with the normal TDO doubles. This will include a round of competition for beginners and advanced players alike, followed by a clinic for beginners and the TDO doubles for anyone who chooses to compete. The Rockwall Disc Golf Association is a new club in the area, and they will be helping run the WBDGW (World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend) festivities. All of that will take place on Saturday as a warm-up for Sunday's big show :)
Sunday will be two rounds of 20 holes. For the TDO, we add two holes to the normal 18, including the infamous island hole! Advanced and Pro divisions will play the long teeboxes for round 1, and the short tees for round 2. Intermediate and Rec divisions will play the short boxes both rounds. There will be a CTP during round two for all cards, as well as a Ring of Fire for everyone to participate in while scores are being tallied.
This has been a great event the past two years, and has filled in advance each time. We can hold a maximum of 100 players for Sunday's event. Doubles on Saturday is flex-start, so we don't have to limit the number of players. Hopefully those who don't get signed up in time to nab one of the 100 spots will still come out and have some fun with us on Saturday. See you all in Rockwall!
We had a lot of members show up to Harry Myers on Saturday for some hot doubles action.. NastyN8, crab people, VOODOO, Brambo, kjones, Chan Man, Maverick, Jackson, and myself. baldguy and ddann also showed but pretended to be too busy selling discs to play with us :) David and Oneputt also planned on making it out, but the rainy weather kept them away.

Kjones wins CTP Competition at Rockwall DGA Ice Bowl!
02/28/2010 10:27 p.m. by Kevin
Congrats to the stud Kjones who took the CTP competition during Rockwall DGA's Ice Bowl over the weekend! Chan Man, Kjones, dman avant, and myself all played in the tournament. It was a lot of fun despite not cashing for me. Kjones came in 7th in Rec, Chan Man in 15th, and dman didn't get last out of 43 total Rec players. I took a whopping 10th place in open out of under 20 players thanks to an epic hole 17 meltdown. OB is dumb :)
Here's a pic of that stud Kjones with his $25 CTP winnings!
Had some great rounds this weekend with Jackson, gibbdog21, CantPuttRob, Craig, Rueben, and Patrick! We hit Harry Myers and Veteran's on Saturday. Kjones and Chan Man tore up some Harry Myers Saturday afternoon as well, but I was out in Arlington at the time so they get no love on pictures :)
Some of us will be at Harry Myers early Saturday morning arond 8:30 and then it's off to Veteran's Park to meet up with CantPuttRob and GoodRunJuan around noon.
kjones, myself, tajss, and Tyson all played BB Owen today during lunch. It was cold, wet, and a lot of snowflakes hit me in the cornea. All and all, it was good times...
Turner Park Tune Up Video from CoolDaddySlickBreeze
02/11/2010 10:37 a.m. by Kevin
Hey guys, Bobby from CoolDaddySlickBreeze (The stud with the camera at all of the Dynamic Discs tournaments) sent me an email with the Turner Park Tune Up highlight video this morning.. For those of you that didn't make it, check the vid out.
Big thanks to Bobby from CoolDaddySlickBreeze Productions for throwing all of this together! Look forward to the Winter Warm Up video from Lewsville last weekend too!
Some of us were thinking about playing an early morning round or two out in Rockwall at Harry Myers Saturday. It would have to be early, start time around 8:00ish AM. It will most likely be a muddy mess, but the Rockwall DGA is hosting an Ice Bowl on the 27th and this might be the last weekend to get some practice in.
A few DiscGolfDallas.com members played in the Dynamic Discs Winter Warm Up at Lake Lewisville Park and LL Woods over the weekend. I was able to meet chopz33 during the Ring of Fire which was pretty awesome. We both had some good runs but didn't end up winning any of the rounds.
I played Intermediate and was able to win after a 3-way tie for first resulted in a match play playoff. 46 players were in the intermediate division. Next up, Advanced :) Kjones also cashed in Rec, so it was a pretty good showing for DGD all around.
Thanks again to Jeremy Rusco and everyone at Dynamic Discs for another killer tournament with just shy of 200 players for the 1 day event!
Just wanted to give an update from this weekend's Dynamic Discs tournaments.. I played the Turner Park Tune Up Saturday (my first PDGA tournament) and won Rec! Looks like I'm moving up, sweet. Nikko Locastro won Open with Eric McCabe and JD Ramirez taking 2nd and 3rd. It was pretty great watching those studs lay it down and talk to a lot of them.
Jeremy and everyone from Dynamic Discs put on a killer tournament and I look forward to playing the Winter Warmup next weekend in Lewsville along with any others they put on in the area from now on! Thanks a ton Jeremy!
That's right.. On May 1st, 2010 DiscGolfDallas.com will proudly present a World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend at Paschall Park in Mesquite, TX. I will have more details soon as it is still in the planning process. Get ready though, it's about to be on!
Lots of disc golf this weekend with a lot of DGD members. Thanks to everyone who came out for some sloppy, rainy, sunny, mushy, hot, cold, and windy games! In particular - Tommy, Tim (tajsss), Drew (gibbdog21), Jackson, Jimmy (Jim7499).
Some thoughts after playing rounds this weekend:
Paschall Park is basically underwater. It seems to be getting worse. I plan on speaking with a friend in the Parks and Rec dept. to try and brainstorm any ideas on getting the terrible drainage under control and see how we can help.
LL Woods park is going to be hell if it's anywhere near as windy as it was this afternoon for the Winter Warmup tourney on 2/6.
I was able to get Tommy (The stud developer and partner of DGD) out on the course not once, or twice, but THRICE today for a whopping 54 holes of golf. We hit Lake Park, LL Woods, and Paschall. No easy task for anyone in 17 MPH winds, much less a beginner. Surprisingly enough, the old man didn't break a hip and hit some good pars and birdies! Good to get you out there Tom!
I found a First Run Pro Teebird sitting in the used bin at Play it Again Sports in pretty good condition for $5. Pretty stoked about that. Jack, you can have it for $25 and some Funyuns.
ESP Surge is slowly becoming the greatest disc of all time for me. It does anything I want it to within 200-400 feet.
I've been wanting to buy some waterproof shoes but hating the idea of spending $125 on them. I found a pair of Hi-Tec Brand Waterproof Hiking shoes for $60 at Sports Authority and they came with a 1 year warranty with full reimbursement if anything fails on the shoe. I went a good 3-4 inches deep in water/mud today at Paschall with no wetness. They were also very comfortable. If anyone is looking for a decent WP discgolf shoe but don't want to spend a ton lilke me, you might want to check them out.
And lastly, I'm expecting a call from the City of Mesquite tomorrow to confirm hosting a World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend at Paschall Park on May 1st, 2010. It's about to be on like Donkey Kong.
Now, for some pics!

Jack and Drew wondering why all of their shoes have become "disc golf shoes"
I'll probably be hitting Porter in Mesquite or BB Owen in Dallas throughout the week for some night golf this week. Next weekend will be busy with the Dynamic Discs tournaments at Turner and possibly Towne Lake. I didn't register for Towne Lake, but I still might.
Phew, what a busy day of DG it's been. Today we hit super sloppy Turner Park early this morning, and it was challenging. We moved on to Towne Lake in McKinney afterwards and it turned out to be a very nice afternoon. Thanks to Tim (tajsss), Drew (gibbdog21), Chandler (Chan Man), and Jones (kjones) for coming out today! The mobile scorecard again was a success as we used it on both courses and uploaded the rounds automatically with the push of a button as soon as the round ended!
Site update: Weather forecast now available in Course Directory. Check it out before you go get blizzarded on. :)
(Side Note from Tommy: Weather/Wind also shows in the mobile scorecard as well as stores so viewers of your round can see what the weather and wind were like that day!)
In other news, Shawn was a no show which shocked no one. Good talk.
Now for some pictures from today!
This is what the back of an SUV should look like on Saturday. Minus Jones's pink Fade bag of course:
Chandler making it look good as usual:
Tim putting and fishing:
Jones saving bogey with the reverse triple no look thumber and slamming some chainage:
Drew pondering the survival percentage/legal ramifications and then flicking so hard his right hand turned to mush:
Myself deep in thought at the end of this drive mulling over a tough decision, "Whether or not to have that 3rd sandwich"
Thanks guys, had a blast! Scores are posted as always if you want to see the rounds! Look forward to seeing more people next weekend! If you have a request for a specific course, post it in the forum!
Turner Park Saturday 1/16/10 & New Mobile Scorecard

Turner Park Meet and Greet:
We're going to be playing Turner Park this upcoming Saturday 1/16/10. Many of us plan on playing in the Dynamic Discs Turner Park Tune Up in a couple of weeks, so I plan on hitting Turner hard for the next little while. It's a B-Tier PDGA Sactioned Tournament. If you want to come out Saturday, feel free! As always, I'll give a free DGD shirt to the first person that shows!
Mobile Scorecard Update:
In other news, the exclusive DiscGolfDallas.com mobile scorecard is ready for beta testing and use by everyone. The scorecard uses an existing internet connection on your cell phone to record rounds while playing. I've used this many times successfully along with a few other members. You simply log into mobile.discgolfdallas.com from your phone's browser and follow the steps. Once the round is completed, it will automatically upload the scores to each member that played's profile as well as show up on the "recent rounds" box on the home page. When you click on any one of the rounds from a players profile, it will pop up an official DGD scorecard with every member's round on one card. You can also leave comments talking smack to one another afterwards. It's an awesome way to keep scores, and track your stats online, all from the palm of your hand! Check it out!
Steps:
Point your browser on your mobile phone to http://mobile.discgolfdallas.com
Log in using your Username and Password for DGD
Select a course
Add each player using their username from the site
Use the drop downs to record scores after every hole
At the end click Review, then Complete afterwards to upload score automatically!
Note: The mobile scorecard is still currently undergoing cosmetic changes as well as additions, but we feel confident enough to allow everyone to start using it now! It functions fine, just doesn't have all of the bells and whistles quite yet :)
Thanks to Jack, Jimmy, Drew, and Chad for joining me Saturday at Cedar Hill for some cold disc golf! The cold made it for a tough round due to frozen fingers and stiff discs but we had a blast! We'll be hitting Turner Park next weekend!
Some pics below from Saturday!
Drew with a smooth 25 footer:
Myself with a routine 10 footer or so. I'm either tired or making my O face. I hope that's not my O face:
Jack the chainbanger:
Chuey on a drive:
We had a Chupacabra sighting on one of the holes, or possibly the Mexican Bigfoot. Look close! No, wait... That's just Jimmy:
Drew actually shanked a drive that landed on a beaver dam in the middle of this pond. He carefully scaled the dam and threw a nice 50 ft thumber to set up a par saving putt:
Look close, you can see Jack's pink Monarch sitting in the top of this tree. No penalty stroke was awarded as the TD didn't put the 2 meter rule in effect before play. Next time Jack, I'll T you up son.
There's me modeling the DiscGolfDallas.com shirt proudly. Darn Paparazzi gets me everywhere these days:
Thanks again to everyone for coming out, I also have some new shirts with a different logo coming in this week! If you want one, shoot me an email or visit the pro shop! I look forward to seeing everyone out again next weekend!
Reminder - We're playing the Lester Lorch courses in Cedar Hill tomorrow morning (1/9/10) @ 12:00 PM. Call Kevin Miller if you want to play and maybe car pool out.
